6-Month EURIBOR

Fed (March 2026): target rate 3.50–3.75%. March FOMC held rates unchanged. The dot plot shows one possible cut in 2026, but opinions are split — 7 members see no cut, 7 project one. PCE inflation forecast at 2.7% — still above the 2% target.

ECB (March 2026): deposit rate 2.0%, main refinancing rate 2.15%. Rates unchanged. Reuters poll: most economists expect rates to hold at current levels through 2026, but a third forecast at least one hike due to the energy crisis triggered by the Middle East conflict. 2026 inflation forecast raised to 2.6%. Lagarde hinted at a possible “moderate corrective hike.”

European perspective: The EURIBOR decline is stalling. Mortgage rates are gradually falling but remain among the highest in the eurozone. If the ECB hikes — EURIBOR rises, and with it, loan payments. Market expectations are cautious: the base rate is projected to stay near current levels or rise 25 bp by end of 2026.
